Rules
1) All answers must be made up of a combination of at least 2 fractions
2) You can use Addition, Subtraction, or Multiplication
3) You may use the reciprocal of the fraction
Steps to follow
1) Give each student a fraction on an index card. These fractions all should be simplified and less than one
2) Each student will then write their name on the index card and tape it to their shirt so that all students can see who has each fraction.
3) Teacher then gives the students a fraction answer.
4) Students work together to find a combination of the fractions that make up the answer. Multiple answers is possible
5) Teacher starts 5min timer.
6) Students when they think they have an answer call time and come to the front board to write down their fractions and the work to get the answer.
7) The rest of the class then has the opportunity to check the work of the answer group.
8) If the answer is correct then all students in the group get a point. If the answer is incorrect the student that explained the mistake gets the point and the timer restarts.
9) Repeat the process.
10) Winner is the one with the most points.
